June 15th-19th updates and Market Report
This week will be hot and sunny, but we all know that can change in an instant. Boats will be out fishing and bringing back some local catches by the middle of the week. Gulf YellowfinTuna, Snapper and Grouper all in the forecast. Trawl boats will be headed out this morning to get some Black Drum and Sheepshead. Unloaded this morning was some Mahi Mahi, Salmon and Venezuela Crabmeat. Maine Lobsters and Farm Redfish due in also!
LANE SNAPPER
These fresh colorful fish are swimming out of our inventory like a shark is chasing them. Like other species in the snapper family, it is prized for its tasty, white meat. There diet of crabs and shrimp gives it a delicious, sweet flavor and firm flesh. Put them on your menu before we sell out!
HALIBUT
Why did the fishmonger cross the road?... Just for the halibut! Haha! Now that you are rolling your eyes, roll on over to these beautiful fresh Halibut. This is a lean fish with mild, sweet tasting white flesh, large flakes and a firm but tender texture. The flavor is so gentle, it pairs well with bolder seasonings like pesto, lemon juice and basil.
